Aseer Development Authority, Saudi ICOMOS Partner for Heritage Preservation

The Aseer Region Development Authority and the Saudi National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (Saudi ICOMOS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the historic Abu Sarrah Palaces to enhance cooperation in preserving the region's cultural heritage.
The agreement will focus on raising awareness about cultural heritage, building capacity for heritage village rehabilitation, and reviewing the authority's cultural heritage activities.
It also aims to promote research on heritage site protection and sustainability, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and the best practices to achieve an authentic cultural legacy.
The MoU signing reflects the authority's interest in the region's heritage sites, driven by its strategy to establish Aseer as a year-round global destination and enhance partnerships with specialized entities.
