NCM Continues Hajj Weather Monitoring for Jamarat and Grand Mosque
The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has initiated the third phase of its operational plan for the Hajj season 1446 AH, specifically focusing on weather monitoring and observation in the Jamarat area and the Grand Mosque. This critical phase underscores NCM's commitment to supporting relevant authorities in crowd management and providing precise climate data to enhance preparedness and public safety.
NCM's current focus involves a sophisticated monitoring network covering 100% of the holy sites, including automatic, fixed, and mobile stations. These stations provide real-time updates on key weather elements such as temperature, humidity, and wind speed.
Operating 24/7, the Mina operations room continuously monitors ground weather conditions in coordination with relevant authorities. Utilizing advanced technologies like satellite imagery, weather radars, and numerical models, NCM issues periodic bulletins and recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making on the ground.
