KSrelief, UNDP Emphasize Multilateral Cooperation for Sustainable Development at UN Session

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) Supervisor-General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah emphasized the urgent need to address global humanitarian challenges, noting that 1.5 billion people live in fragile or conflict-affected environments.

His remarks came during a dialogue session on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace nexus, co-organized by KSrelief and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Al Rabeeah highlighted that KSrelief's partners have provided humanitarian assistance to over 100 countries, with a focus on sustainable impact. He cited the strategic partnership with the UNDP in Yemen as an example, which has provided vocational training and business management skills to thousands, particularly women and youth. The partnership has also enhanced social protection and promoted peace-building initiatives for vulnerable groups, including the displaced and people with disabilities.

Al-Rabeeah concluded by calling for enhanced cooperation to strengthen multilateralism and support countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, which will help more people live in peace, security, and dignity.
