Makkah is set to host the Makkah Marathon 2026 on December 17, offering a unique sporting and cultural experience that combines athletic challenges with the discovery of the city’s historical and religious landmarks.

The event, organized by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, aims to promote Makkah as a destination for sporting and community events while showcasing its historical and cultural heritage. It also supports efforts to encourage physical activity, make greater use of public spaces, and enhance quality of life in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The competitions will take place over three days, featuring a 2-kilometer race for children and a 200-meter race for people with disabilities on December 18, followed by 5-, 10-, and 21-kilometer races on December 19.
