Khaybar Heritage Club: A New Destination for Heritage Enthusiasts in the Province
Khaybar is one of the most historically significant provinces in the Kingdom, known for its unique natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The province is home to more than eight historical forts, six dams, 32 running springs, and a range of newly discovered archaeological sites, such as the Umm Al-Jarsan Cave. Located in the northwest of the Kingdom, approximately 168 kilometers from Madinah, Khaybar is characterized by its volcanic terrain, covered in black stones, lending it a distinct natural beauty.
In this context, the Khaybar Heritage Club, one of the clubs under the National Hobbies Portal “Hawi,” serves as a meeting point for heritage and folklore enthusiasts in the province. According to Mohammed Al-Khaybari, the club’s leader, the establishment of the club stemmed from the desire of the province’s residents to practice their heritage-related hobbies in an environment that preserves the rich cultural legacy of Khaybar. Al-Khaybari added that the club aims to be a source of heritage information, connecting younger generations with their authentic heritage, while bridging the past with the present.
“Hawi” Paves the Way for Hobbyists
Al-Khaybari emphasized that the support of the National Hobbies Portal “Hawi” played a major role in helping the club achieve its goals. He stated, “Hawi has helped remove all obstacles faced by the club’s members, allowing them to pursue their favorite hobby with ease.” The Khaybar Heritage Club currently has over 79 members, all working to provide a nurturing environment for heritage enthusiasts while educating younger generations about the province’s cultural legacy.
Growth of the Hobbies Sector with “Hawi”
It is noteworthy that the “Hawi” platform, launched in October 2022, came in response to the needs of thousands of hobbyists across the Kingdom. “Hawi” offers a platform that enables hobbyists to establish clubs dedicated to their interests, providing an organizational framework that allows them to conduct their activities in an official capacity. According to “Hawi” statistics, more than 1,150 clubs have been registered so far, with over 68,778 members, and more than 1,450 events have been organized.
“Hawi” is one of the pioneering initiatives under the Quality of Life Program, aimed at enhancing the hobbies sector in the Kingdom and contributing to the goals of Vision 2030 by encouraging community activities and promoting positive lifestyles. The Khaybar Heritage Club is a living example of the role “Hawi” plays in supporting hobbyists and preserving the Kingdom’s national heritage.
