Saudi Arabia Faces Oman, Aims for Khaleeji 27 Semifinal Spot

Saudi Arabia's national football team faces Oman on Saturday at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah in the second round of Group A at the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 27).

 Both sides hope to reach the semifinals with this match. Saudi Arabia leads the group on three points after beating Kuwait 1-0 in the opening round, while Oman has one point from a 1-1 draw with Iraq.

 A second straight win would take Saudi Arabia to six points and secure a semifinal place before its final group match against Iraq.

 Saudi Arabia played well in the opener, backed by strong support in the stands, and took the win despite missing several chances.

 Oman, meanwhile, is looking for a first win in the tournament to improve its own chances. A draw would also keep the Omanis in contention going into the final round, after they recovered from an early goal against Iraq to take a point that kept them in the race for one of the group's two qualifying places.
