Grand Mosque Offers Dedicated Prayer Areas for Visitors with Disabilities
The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques prioritizes inclusivity for pilgrims with disabilities. Within the Grand Mosque in Makkah, dedicated prayer areas are equipped with modern amenities to enhance their experience. These designated spaces at the King Fahad Expansion offer a sense of ease and comfort for worshippers.
The Grand Mosque features specific entrances for visitors with disabilities. Men can access prayer areas via the first floor opposite Gate 91, the first floor opposite the Shubaika Bridge Gate No. 68, and Gate No. 68 on the ground floor next to the Shubaika Staircase. Women can enter through Gate 88 on the ground floor or Gate 65 on the first floor, as well as the prayer area No. 15. Accessibility extends beyond dedicated entrances.
The authority has implemented ramps to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. Clearly marked signage and designated paths guide visitors toward their desired locations. For those who require additional assistance, hand and electric carts are available. These comprehensive measures demonstrate the general authority's dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all pilgrims.
