Saudi Post Honors Cultural Legacy of the Postman

Before modern digital communications, the postal service was the central artery connecting people, with the postman serving as a vital link delivering hopes, longings, and news. Established in 1926, Saudi Post quickly became a cornerstone of daily life across the Kingdom.

 Handwritten letters were sealed in signature white envelopes bordered with red and blue stripes, stamped with commemorative issues marking significant moments in Saudi history. Senders used options ranging from regular to registered mail—the latter allowing for tracking and delivery guarantees.

 More than just a courier, the postman in his formal uniform, equipped with a leather bag and bicycle, was a beloved cultural icon whose arrivals inspired poetry and popular memory.

 Fahd Al-Jabhan, a former Saudi Post employee in Northern Borders Region, noted that historic villages served as key stops along ancient trade and caravan routes. Today, these sites stand as living testaments to early human communication in northern Saudi Arabia and the deep emotional impact carried by every handwritten letter.
