ZATCA Foils Methamphetamine Smuggling Attempt at Empty Quarter Crossing
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at the Empty Quarter (Al-Rub' Al-Khali) border crossing thwarted an attempt to smuggle 19.2 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed inside the rear axle of a truck entering the Kingdom.
ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi emphasized the authority’s commitment to strengthening the security and protection of society by tightening customs controls and standing firm against smuggling. He urged the public to report any smuggling attempts by calling 1910 or emailing 1910@zatca.gov.sa, assuring that all reports are handled with complete confidentiality and may result in a financial reward if the information is accurate.
