Passports Directorate Deploys Advanced Technologies to Facilitate Pilgrims’ Departure
Spokesperson of the General Directorate of Passports Major Nasser Al-Otaibi stressed that the directorate continues implementing its operational plan for the departure of pilgrims through all international air, land, and sea ports after having completed their Hajj rituals with ease and convenience.
Al-Otaibi noted that passport operations have been reinforced with qualified personnel working around the clock at various international ports, in accordance with operational plans designed to facilitate departure procedures, ensure smooth movement, reduce waiting times, and maintain the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and security.
He added that the directorate has deployed an advanced system of modern technological solutions, most notably electronic gates that enable travelers to complete procedures automatically with speed and ease, enhancing pilgrims’ departure experience from the Kingdom. It has also introduced simultaneous translation devices that operate electronically in 138 languages using artificial intelligence technologies, facilitating communication with pilgrims of different nationalities and languages and helping complete procedures quickly and efficiently.
The spokesperson also highlighted the use of mobile service counters equipped with innovative digital solutions to enhance the quality of services provided to beneficiaries at international ports. These counters facilitate the smooth, rapid completion of procedures for beneficiaries, elderly individuals, and persons with disabilities, without delay.
