Shura Council Joins Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean

Shura Council Vice Speaker Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami headed the council's delegation at the opening of the 19th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, held in the Italian Republic.

 In his speech, Dr. Mishaal welcomed the Shura Council's observer status at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, emphasizing the opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom and Mediterranean countries in various fields, including parliamentary, political, economic, cultural, and tourism fields. He noted the potential for experience exchange and collaboration between the Mediterranean basin and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

 Dr. Mishaal highlighted the Kingdom's initiatives promoting regional security, peace, stability, and development, including the Arab Peace Initiative, the Yemen ceasefire, Sudanese peace talks, the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), the Middle East Green Initiative, this week's U.S.-Russian talks, and the relief and humanitarian aid provided by the Kingdom to countries affected by wars and disasters.
