Media Innovation Bootcamp Reviews Registration Results, Advances 150 Projects to Next Stage
The Media Innovation Bootcamp, an initiative of the Saudi Media Forum, held an interactive workshop attended by Saudi Media Forum President Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, alongside senior executives, industry experts, and representatives of partner organizations. The workshop aimed to strengthen collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange, review results from the registration phase, and prepare for the next stage of project development and specialized mentorship.
The workshop highlighted the initiative’s key achievements and explored ways to strengthen partners’ contributions to supporting participating projects. Discussions also focused on turning innovative ideas into practical, sustainable media solutions, empowering young talent to harness emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in content creation and advance the media sector.
The organizing team presented the results of the registration phase, which attracted approximately 300 submissions from 25 countries, reflecting the bootcamp’s expanding international reach and growing interest in initiatives that bring together media, innovation, and emerging technologies.
The figures revealed steady growth in participation, from 70 submissions in the first edition to 150 in the second, reaching approximately 300 in the current edition. This upward trend underscores the initiative’s continued expansion and its ability to attract diverse ideas and expertise from different markets and environments.
Following the screening and evaluation process, 150 projects qualified for the development and mentorship stage. This phase aims to refine ideas, strengthen project models, address technical and operational challenges, and enhance participants’ readiness for subsequent evaluation and judging rounds. The program offers integrated support across financial, technical, and media-related areas, as well as artificial intelligence applications.
Al-Harthi emphasized the initiative’s importance in identifying and empowering young talent. He noted that Saudi Arabia is home to a wealth of creative talent and promising ideas that require platforms offering development and training opportunities to help transform concepts into viable, scalable projects.
He explained that empowering innovators goes beyond providing opportunities to participate. It also requires creating a supportive environment where participants can gain practical experience, benefit from specialized guidance, and build projects that can sustain operations beyond the bootcamp. He added that the initiative’s achievements over the past three years show the importance of investing in new ideas and creating effective pathways to develop them.
Al-Harthi noted that several companies and projects emerging from the initiative have successfully expanded their operations and achieved positive results. He stressed the importance of continuing to support participants after the bootcamp concludes, rather than limiting the initiative’s role to the competition and final awards stages.
He further emphasized the ambition to establish a sustainable innovation cycle in which former beneficiaries become partners in supporting future innovators, fostering knowledge transfer, encouraging the exchange of expertise, and extending the initiative’s impact. He also underscored the role of mentorship and partnerships in strengthening project readiness and improving their prospects for success.
The workshop concluded by highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts across the media, technology, and investment sectors in the next phase, as 150 projects advance to the development and mentorship program ahead of further qualification, evaluation, and final judging stages.
The initiative reflects the Saudi Media Forum’s commitment to fostering an innovation-driven environment that combines talent attraction, specialized development, and media and technical support. By creating opportunities for emerging projects to grow, the bootcamp helps nurture a new generation of innovators and content creators equipped to help shape the future of Saudi Arabia’s media industry.
