Imam Abdulrahman University’s Medical Programs Earn Canadian RCPSC Accreditation

President of Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU) Prof. Fahad Alharbi received academic accreditation certificates from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for several residency training programs at the College of Medicine.
Dean of the IAU College of Medicine Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahrani stated that this accreditation is the first of its kind in the Kingdom among educational and medical institutions. IAU is the first Saudi university to receive institutional accreditation from the RCPSC, marking the first time five residency training programs outside Canada have been accredited by the Royal College at a single institution.
He noted that the accreditation was granted following a thorough evaluation of the training methodology and the quality of outcomes, emphasizing that the university's accredited programs provide training on par with those of Canadian institutions.
This achievement aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the quality of medical education, improve the competencies of Saudi physicians to meet labor market demands, and improve the quality of healthcare.
