Civil Defense Warns of Home Accident Risks and Urges Safety Precautions

The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a warning about the increasing risk of home accidents, particularly in kitchens, due to hazards associated with gas stoves and electrical fires. The warning highlights the dangers of overloading electrical circuits and using substandard power connections, which can lead to serious accidents.
 The Civil Defense emphasized the importance of regularly inspecting electrical and gas connections, ensuring they meet safety standards, and adhering to official safety guidelines. Homeowners are urged to install smoke detectors, manual fire extinguishers, and gas leak detectors in their kitchens and to familiarize themselves with their proper use in case of emergencies.
 Authorities also urged the public to stay informed by following safety guidelines shared on various media and social platforms. In case of emergencies, residents in Riyadh, Makkah, and the Eastern Region can call 911, while those in other regions of the Kingdom should dial 998 for immediate assistance.
