Saudi Arabia Celebrates International Day for Eradication of Poverty with Shining Record

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is celebrating the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, which falls on October 17 each year, with a massive record of achievements and a solid commitment to providing support and assistance to less developed countries and peoples, reaffirming its status as not only one of the largest global donors but also as a model in the field of relief and humanitarian work.

Through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), the Kingdom provides relief and humanitarian aid to many countries affected by crises and disasters. Since its establishment, the center has implemented 3,070 projects in 102 countries, with a total cost exceeding $7.052 billion, a testament to the Kingdom's significant financial contributions in the fight against poverty.

These projects cover various relief sectors that have helped alleviate poverty, including food and agricultural security, early recovery, water and environmental sanitation, health, education, shelter, and other vital sectors. These efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of millions worldwide, reflecting the noble values and genuine approach of the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

KSRelief has been keen to strengthen its international partnerships and build close relations with United Nations organizations and other relevant international bodies. This has contributed to reducing global poverty rates and enabled the Kingdom to make steady progress in building a better future for needy nations and peoples around the world.
