
Industry Ministry Issues 68 New Mining Licenses in July 2025
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 68 new mining licenses in July 2025 as part of efforts to develop the Kingdom’s mining sector and strengthen its role in diversifying national income sources.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah stated the new licenses included 44 for exploration, 11 for building material quarries, seven for reconnaissance, five for mining and small mine exploitation, and one for surplus mineral ore, according to the National Industrial and Mining Information Center’s July 2025 bulletin.
Al-Jarrah further noted that the total number of valid mining licenses by the end of July reached 2,463. This total includes 1,499 building material quarry licenses, 651 exploration licenses, 242 for small mining and mine exploitation, 58 reconnaissance licenses, and 13 surplus mineral ore licenses.
