Najran's Coffee Cultivation Expands to Nearly 100,000 Trees as Harvest Season Begins

Coffee farms across Najran Region's governorates are flourishing as coffee trees mature and coffee cherries begin to emerge on their branches, heralding the start of a promising agricultural season.
 The harvest helps strengthen the position of Saudi coffee as one of the Kingdom's most prominent national crops, deeply rooted in its cultural and social heritage.
 This fruiting season coincides with significant agricultural expansion in the region, with the number of coffee trees in Najran's governorates reaching nearly 100,000. More than 9,000 of these trees are currently fruit-bearing, producing over seven tons of coffee.
 Agricultural Committee Chairman at the Najran Chamber of Commerce Ali Dhafer Al-Harith explained that the achievements in coffee cultivation are the result of continued support from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, which has placed the local coffee sector among its key agricultural and investment priorities.
 He noted that the ministry is implementing programs and initiatives to provide farmers with technical and logistical support, including high-quality seedlings and organic fertilizers suited to Najran's soil conditions.
 The efforts also include adopting modern agricultural technologies and innovative irrigation systems to rationalize water consumption, enhance production efficiency, and improve crop quality.
