AlUla Date Harvest Nears End as Auction Runs Until November 15

Palm farms in AlUla Governorate are nearing the end of the date harvest, the final stage of the annual palm cycle, as ripe fruit is gathered, sorted, and prepared for market. Skilled workers, supervised by farmers, carry out the harvest using methods that preserve the fruit's quality and integrity, drawing on cultivation expertise passed down through generations.

AlUla has more than 4.2 million surveyed and registered palm trees, producing an estimated 130,000 tons of dates annually across more than 20,500 hectares, according to the Royal Commission for AlUla's agriculture center. More than 7,100 farmers receive advisory, technical, and veterinary services.

The AlUla Date Auction will continue on weekends until November 15, providing farmers with an outlet for their produce as part of the AlUla Date Season, which runs from September through November. Sales volume and value have grown in recent seasons, and AlUla dates have gained a stronger presence in local and international markets.
