Year of the Camel Initiative Showcases Saudi Heritage at National Cultural Awards

The Year of the Camel initiative for 2024, launched by the Ministry of Culture, participated in the closing ceremony of the fourth National Cultural Awards to showcase its cultural significance and the deep-rooted relationship between Saudis and camels.
A special pavilion at the ceremony, held at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh, featured a rock engraving of camels and a screen displaying camel engravings from various regions of the Kingdom. These exhibits highlighted archaeological evidence and unique landmarks that reflect the pride and admiration Saudis have held for camels since ancient times.
The Year of the Camel aims to preserve the cultural heritage associated with camels. The initiative celebrates camels as a cultural symbol, a living witness to Saudi authenticity, and an important element of Saudi culture. It also seeks to highlight the connection between Saudis and camels and their impact on daily life.
