The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held here today.
The Cabinet was briefed on the message that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received from Republic of Senegal President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and the two phone calls His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula.
The Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of HRH the Crown Prince's meeting with Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis and of the strategic partnership council between the two friendly countries, which included reviewing cooperation ties and means to enhance them across various fields and exchanging views on developments of mutual interest and ongoing efforts in this regard.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary highlighted the Cabinet's discussion of current regional and international developments. The Cabinet commended the broad international participation in the recent ministerial meetings on Syria hosted by the Kingdom, which aim to support the Syrian people through humanitarian and economic assistance and to help them rebuild Syria as a unified, independent, and secure nation for all its citizens. The Cabinet emphasized that Syria must be free from terrorism and any aggression against its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's call upon the international community to fulfill its responsibility in halting Israel's ongoing violations of international law and norms. The Cabinet stressed the importance of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity to prevent further escalation of regional crises and to support efforts toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
The Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom's ongoing international development and humanitarian relief efforts, which aim to alleviate the suffering of those in need worldwide, guided by the principles and values of Islam.
The Cabinet tackled other items on its agenda and issued several decisions, including the following:
First:
Approving a model memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of energy between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the governments of other countries and authorizing the minister of energy, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding for energy cooperation with counterparts in other countries based on the approved model.
Second:
Approving two memoranda of understanding in the field of Islamic affairs between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Chad and the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
Third:
Authorizing the minister of health, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in health-related fields between the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Health of Grenada.
Fourth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding in the fields of preventing and combating corruption between the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the national anti-corruption committee of Djibouti.
Fifth:
Approving a memorandum of cooperation in the field of intellectual property between the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
Sixth:
Approving a cooperation agreement in the field of combating terrorism crimes between the Presidency of State Security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China.
Seventh:
Approving an agreement on the exploration and peaceful use of outer space between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federative Republic of Brazil.
Eighth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding in administrative development between the Institute of Public Administration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Supreme Council for Women of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
