Muslim World League Praises Saudi-French Leadership at UN Peace Conference
The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the joint statement from the recent high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.
In a statement, MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa congratulated the Kingdom and other nations on the conference's great success, highlighting the unprecedented international commitments that resulted from the meeting, including historic official recognition of the Palestinian state.
The conference led to the adoption of the New York Declaration, which received exceptional support with 142 votes from the UN General Assembly. This, according to Al-Issa, consolidated the unwavering international commitment to the two-state solution and charted an irreversible path to building a better future.
Al-Issa expressed the MWL's appreciation for Saudi Arabia's steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, citing the tireless and pivotal efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that the conference's success represents a victory for justice and a decisive historical shift in the course of the Palestinian issue.
