International Report Highlights Saudi Arabia as Leader in Data-Driven, AI-Powered Economy

A recent international economic report highlighted Saudi Arabia's significant progress in data and artificial intelligence (AI), affirming the Kingdom's success in building an integrated national ecosystem that has strengthened its position among the world's leading countries in AI, supported the digital economy, and reinforced the foundations of digital governance and sovereignty. The report cited the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) as a leading national model in this field.

The report, titled Securing Nations in the Intelligent Economy: Turning AI and Quantum Disruption into Strategic Advantage, was published by Microsoft and Accenture. It highlighted SDAIA's efforts in leading the Kingdom's national data and AI ecosystem and the progress it has achieved on behalf of Saudi Arabia in developing national policies, strengthening digital infrastructure, fostering innovation, and building strategic partnerships with leading global technology companies, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The report said Saudi Arabia has adopted a comprehensive approach to accelerating AI adoption by developing national enablers, building human capabilities, localizing advanced technologies, and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors. It noted that these efforts have contributed to building a national ecosystem that supports innovation and enhances economic competitiveness.

The report also highlighted the National Artificial Intelligence Index, developed by SDAIA, as one of the Kingdom's leading national initiatives for measuring the readiness of government entities to adopt AI technologies, monitoring the maturity of their AI applications, and providing strategic recommendations to improve government performance while promoting the responsible and sustainable use of AI.
