National Competitiveness Center, OECD Organizes Workshop on 'Digital Trade in Saudi Arabia'

The National Competitiveness Center, in cooperation with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), organized a high-level workshop on "Digital Trade in Saudi Arabia," with the participation of more than 60 representatives from 35 entities across the public and private sectors. The event was held as part of ongoing efforts to improve the business environment and enhance the Kingdom’s competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
The workshop featured a presentation by the OECD on its work in the field of digital trade, highlighting key policy tools and relevant databases, and providing an initial overview of the digital trade review of the Kingdom.
Discussions addressed key trends in the Kingdom’s participation in digital trade, the development of digital infrastructure, the local regulatory environment, and related international commitments, as well as the role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of digital trade. The workshop also included contributions from relevant government entities, focusing on national policy priorities, reform efforts, and international cooperation in digital trade.
The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion session led by OECD experts that examined challenges, opportunities for enhancing digital trade, and ways to align national policies with international developments.
