Riyadh: Hub for Media Industry and Digital Innovation

Saudi Arabia is rapidly establishing itself as a global hub for media industry and digital innovation, with Riyadh emerging as a focal point for international media companies and specialists in the field. As investments in media infrastructure continue to rise, the Saudi capital is taking the lead in hosting major events that bring together experts and leading institutions in the media industry.

The Saudi Media Forum, held at Hilton Riyadh from February 19 to 21, serves as a prominent platform for decision-makers, experts, and media pioneers from around the world, all gathering in one place to discuss the fundamental transformations occurring in the sector.

This year's forum addressed pivotal issues reflecting the significant changes in the media landscape. Key sessions included discussions on digital transformation in the Kingdom, the impact of social media on public opinion, and the role of media in promoting energy transition and sustainable innovation.

Specialized sessions focused on media and the craft of political persona, which spotlighted the experience of British former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Another session explored the process of content creation from initial ideas to their appearance on screens, highlighting the evolution of media production techniques and distribution strategies.

The forum brought together a distinguished lineup of global and regional speakers to discuss the future of media amid rapid technological advancements, emphasizing the use of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and interactive media to enhance the industry and its impact.

A highlight of the forum is the launch of the "Spotlight" initiative, which showcases prominent initiatives in the Kingdom, including the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. The initiative featured designs for 15 stadiums that reflect the identity of Saudi cities, alongside presentations of destinations from the Red Sea Global (RSG) company such as the Red Sea, AMAALA, and Thuwal Private Retreat, with 19 new destinations planned for 2025.

The initiative on the Year of Handicrafts has also shined at the forum with a pavilion designed to resemble a luxurious handicraft piece aimed at displaying the creativity of Saudi artisans, while the Founding Pavilion offered a glimpse into the Kingdom's cultural and historical roots and its enduring values.

Riyadh's strategic location and advanced infrastructure underscore its growing role as a major hub for hosting significant media events. Today, it stands as a regional capital for media and a leading destination in the field, where future visions align with current achievements to open new horizons in the media industry at both local and global levels.

Saudi Arabia, through its ongoing investments in the media and digital innovation sectors, aims to enhance its position as a leading global destination in this field by organizing specialized events that bring together experts and creators from around the world to keep pace with rapid developments in the media industry.
