Heritage Commission Launches Second Edition of ‘Little Explorer’ Event in Jeddah Tomorrow
The Heritage Commission is set to launch the second edition of its “Little Explorer” event tomorrow, beginning in Jeddah. This national initiative targets children and young adults. It aims to foster awareness of Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage and encourage community participation in its protection through an engaging, interactive experience that blends education and entertainment.
The initiative is a key component of the commission’s broader strategy to reinforce national identity and connect younger generations to the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage. It introduces participants to the basics of archaeology, artifact handling, and the significance of excavation through practical tools and realistic simulations, allowing children to interact with heritage in creative and stimulating ways.
“Little Explorer” reflects the commission’s commitment to community awareness and cultural education. It contributes to building a generation that understands the value of the Kingdom’s antiquities and is committed to their preservation.
The commission stressed that this initiative supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which calls for greater cultural engagement in sustainable development and the expansion of the heritage sector by involving all segments of society, particularly youth, in preserving and celebrating national heritage.
