Absher Platform Provides Rapid Digital Solutions, Helps Issue over 28 Million Digital IDs

According to the Ministry of Interior, the number of unified digital identities issued through its electronic platform Absher exceeds 28 million, as part of its drive towards digital transformation.

Over 460 services were offered through Absher’s three platforms: for individuals, businesses, and government.

Digital IDs contain information that enables beneficiaries to access their services, and are an important step toward achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 by improving the quality and speed of services provided to citizens.

Digital IDs enable users to access a wide range of services provided by the Ministry of Interior via the Absher platform, or to connect with government or private platforms to carry out secure and reliable transactions via the unified national access portal, Nafath. This helps boost trust in digital transactions and enables users to engage in digital transformation and national e-transactions.

The Ministry of Interior’s digital transformation endeavor began decades ago; its electronic platform Absher is the result of using multiple methodologies and programs that contributed to numerous achievements in the Kingdom’s digital transformation.

The Absher platform plays a key role in developing e-government and enabling digital transformation in the Kingdom. It improves the delivery of public services, helping increase user satisfaction.

Saudi Arabia has advanced 25 positions in the UN e-Government Development Index 2024, ranking among the leading countries. It has achieved 4th place globally, 1st place regionally, and 2nd place among the G20 countries in the Digital Services Index. It also ranked 7th in the E-Participation Index, and Riyadh secured the 3rd place among 193 cities all over the world.
