OIC Secretary General Hosts Farewell Meeting with Palestine's Permanent Representative
Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha held a farewell meeting with Palestine's Permanent Representative to the OIC Ambassador Maher Karaki, at the General Secretariat in Jeddah, marking the conclusion of Karaki's tenure.
Karaki conveyed his gratitude on behalf of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian people for Taha's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. He commended Taha's role, particularly through the Ministerial Committee established during the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit, held in Riyadh on November 11, 2023, to address Israeli aggression, particularly in Gaza.
Karaki also presented an updated report on recent Israeli attacks, warning of escalating violations in the West Bank and Jerusalem. He emphasized that Israel has exploited regional developments to intensify its aggression against Palestinians.
Taha reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the OIC's mission. Expressing deep concern over the systematic destruction of Palestinian cities and the ongoing violence by Israeli occupation forces, he pledged to continue utilizing international platforms and OIC mechanisms to counter these aggressions, defend Palestinian rights, and advocate for the restoration of all usurped rights.
