Preserving Biodiversity: Sand Cats Thrive at King Salman Royal Reserve

The sand cat, a small, nocturnal wildcat, plays a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of the King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority.

While not globally threatened, it is included in the reserve's conservation programs. Its characteristics include thick fur, a broad head, large ears, and a diet consisting of small rodents, lizards, and snakes.

The reserve boasts over 350 species of wildlife, and conservation efforts have resulted in over 1,245 animals being resettled and over 120 births recorded.
