Citrus Festival to Kick off in Al-Hariq Governorate in January
Al-Hariq Governorate, in the Riyadh region, is gearing up to host the Ninth Citrus Festival from January 1 to 10, 2025, to showcase the region's diverse agricultural produce, with focus on citrus fruit and other crops that contribute to local market needs and enhance the Kingdom's food security.
The festival will also feature a variety of accompanying activities.
Organized by the National Company for Agricultural Services, the ten-day festival will highlight Al-Hariq's finest agricultural offerings, including over 20 varieties of citrus fruit. Local farmers will display other crops as well, seeking to market their produce in the Kingdom.
Al-Hariq Governorate produces annually approximately 5,000 tons of citrus fruit, yielded by 94,000 trees on 350 farms.
The National Company for Agricultural Services emphasized that the festival aims to support local farmers by providing a platform for them to market their products and showcase the governorate's agricultural diversity.
The festival also seeks to encourage farmers to adopt modern marketing techniques, including electronic platforms, to increase the reach and popularity of their products.
