
ZATCA Foils Major Captagon Smuggling Attempt at Jeddah Islamic Port
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) thwarted an attempt to smuggle 310,000 Captagon pills hidden in a vehicle arriving at Jeddah Islamic Port.
According to ZATCA Spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi, the substantial quantity of pills was found concealed in various compartments during a routine inspection of the vehicle.
Following the seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), leading to the arrest of eight individuals involved in receiving the contraband within the Kingdom.
Al-Harbi reiterated ZATCA's unwavering commitment, in collaboration with the GDNC, to enhancing customs control at all entry and exit points to protect Saudi society and its economy from the threat of illegal narcotics.
