Saudi Customs Report over 1,626 Seizures at Ports in One Week

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced today that customs operations at land, air, and sea ports recorded 1,626 seizures of prohibited items in a single week, underscoring the authority’s dedication to enhancing security and protecting society from smuggling and illegal activities.
 The seizures included 73 cases involving narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, shabu, and Captagon pills, as well as 882 incidents of other prohibited substances.
 Customs officials also intercepted over 2,886 attempts to smuggle tobacco and its derivatives, 45 cases related to sums of money, and four incidents involving weapons and their accessories.
 ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to tightening customs controls on imports and exports to safeguard society, emphasizing its collaboration with relevant authorities to combat smuggling and all forms of illegal trade.
 The authority called on the public to support its efforts by reporting smuggling activities through its designated hotline, 1910, via email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or by calling the international number 009661910. ZATCA handles all reports with strict confidentiality and offers financial rewards for accurate information.
