ICAIRE Invites Global Researchers to Join International AI Ethics Research Initiative

The International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) in Riyadh, operating under the auspices of UNESCO, has invited researchers and experts worldwide to join a global initiative supporting interdisciplinary scientific research in artificial intelligence (AI) ethics as part of its ongoing efforts to promote the responsible use of intelligent technologies and advance both the theoretical and practical foundations of ethical AI.

The initiative aims to explore ethical principles in the design and operation of AI systems, assess associated risks, promote algorithmic fairness, and identify biases. It also seeks to highlight the cultural challenges related to the design and use of AI, contributing to the development of fair and inclusive global policies and standards.

The initiative covers six key research areas, including ethical principles in AI system design, human-centered design, bias detection and algorithmic fairness, the responsible use of large language models, cultural perspectives, and justice in the analysis of technological and social disparities.

ICAIRE called on researchers and practitioners in AI, machine learning, data science, philosophy, law, human-computer interaction, and the social and human sciences to submit research proposals, particularly those with experience in academic publishing or interdisciplinary collaboration.

This initiative seeks to establish specialized research groups tasked with developing tools, reports, and impactful scientific papers that advance this vital field globally while supporting Sustainable Development Goals focused on justice and innovation.

Applications will be accepted until Thursday, August 14, 2025, through the following link: https://icaire.org/news/call-for-research-advancing-ai-ethics-principles-and-practices.
