Saudi Arabia to Host 25th Asian Physics Olympiad 2025

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 25th edition of the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2025 from May 4 to 12 in Dhahran, with the participation of 240 students representing 30 Asian countries.

This international scientific event, hosted by the Kingdom for the first time, is jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). The event will be held at KFUPM under the exclusive sponsorship of Saudi Aramco.

The APhO is one of the most prominent annual international science competitions for talented high school students in physics. It brings together participants from Asian countries that have achieved high rankings in the International Physics Olympiad.

The Kingdom first participated in the APhO in 2012 and has since earned 16 international awards in the competition. These awards are part of a broader achievement of 854 medals and honors won by Saudi students in global and regional Olympiads and international scientific competitions.
