MWL Condemns Preliminary Approval of Israeli Law Extending Sovereignty over West Bank

The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ preliminary approval of a law imposing so-called “Israeli sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank and one of its settlements.

 In a statement issued by MWL General Secretariat, MWL Secretary-General and Organization of Muslim Scholars Chairman Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa denounced the occupation authorities persistent policy of blatant contempt for international legitimacy, their flagrant violations of international law, and their deliberate undermining of all efforts aimed at achieving peace.

 The secretary-general reaffirmed the justice of the Palestinian cause and the historical and legal right of the Palestinian people to their land, calling on the international community to take a sincere and serious stand to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities and to support the legitimate Palestinian right to self-determination and the establishment of their state.
