Jeddah Islamic Port Adds WAN HAl LINE’s ‘FM1’ Service to Boost Connectivity with 10 Regional, Global Ports
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of a new shipping service, “FM1,” operated by WAN HAl LINE, to the Jeddah Islamic Port. The move enhances the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global maritime map, supports smooth trade flows, expands commercial opportunities, and boosts national exports.
The new service links the Jeddah Islamic Port with 10 regional and international ports, including Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Shekou in China; Port Klang in Malaysia; Aqaba in Jordan; Sokhna and Alexandria in Egypt; and İzmit and Istanbul in Türkiye. The new service has a handling capacity of 4,532 standard containers.
This step aligns with Mawani’s efforts to boost the Kingdom’s status in global performance indices, improve operational efficiency at the Jeddah Islamic Port, and support the flow of national exports, in line with the targets of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. The strategy seeks to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub and a vital link between the three continents.
The Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest on the Red Sea coast, with a strategic location and 62 multi-purpose berths. It plays a pivotal role regionally and internationally, reinforcing the Kingdom’s leadership in the maritime sector.
