Arab League Secretary-General Calls for Unified Action Against Islamophobia

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit has stated Islamophobia is a serious and escalating issue that must not be overlooked. He called for unified efforts to investigate its root causes and develop clear, effective strategies to confront and prevent it.

Aboul Gheit made these remarks during his speech at the International Conference on Combating Islamophobia, held at the Arab League headquarters. He highlighted the vital role of governments and international bodies in addressing this issue, urging a resolution that includes appointing a UN envoy to combat Islamophobia.

He also noted the Arab League has already adopted several resolutions, both at the level of Arab summits and foreign ministers, condemning all forms of incitement to religious hatred, extremism, and terrorism.
