Kaaba Staircase: A 6.5-Ton Teak Wood

The Grand Mosque has always been the focus of the wise leadership's attention and care, ensuring the preservation of all its elements and the integration of advanced technologies. One notable example is the fully-equipped Kaaba staircase.
The staircase, crafted from high-quality teak wood, measures 5.65 meters in length, 4.80 meters in height, and 1.88 meters in width, with a weight of 6,500 kilograms. It was introduced in 2000 and highlights the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque's commitment to innovation.
The staircase is powered by 24 batteries and features a bulb stand at the top for illuminating the interior of the Kaaba. It is also equipped with central air conditioning vents to cool the sacred structure from within and includes several tanks, including three for air conditioning and one specifically for washing the Kaaba.
