Eastern Region Governor Inaugurates New Industrial Projects in Dammam
Eastern Region Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz yesterday inaugurated new industrial projects in Dammam's first and second industrial cities. The event was attended by Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) Board President Bandar Alkhorayef and MODON CEO Majed Al-Argoubi.
Prince Saud praised the industrial sector's development, attributing it to the government's support and alignment with Vision 2030 goals. He emphasized the projects' role in developing local content and strengthening Eastern Region as a key industrial hub.
The inaugurated projects included a multi-story factories project in Dammam First Industrial City. The eight-floor building contains 78 industrial units, providing a stimulating environment for entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises. With spaces ranging from 156 to 251 square meters, the units are equipped with the latest technology and offer integrated consulting and training services to encourage expansion and generate added industrial value.
A ready-built factories project was also launched in Dammam Second Industrial City. It features the construction of 84 units, ranging from 700 to 1,500 square meters, across a total area of over 92,000 square meters. Designed to support light industries, the project offers promising opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors in fields such as food, medical, pharmaceutical, electrical, and electronics, as well as 3D printing technologies.
Al-Argoubi highlighted Eastern Region's six industrial cities, which span over 40 million square meters and host more than 1,850 facilities. He noted that the region's 89% occupancy rate reflects a vibrant industrial sector.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between MODON and Eastern Region Municipality to enhance regulatory and investment cooperation, create a more attractive industrial environment, and streamline processes for investors.
