Foreign Minister Participates in Paris Ministerial on U.S. Gaza Plan, Cease-Fire Steps

Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah yesterday took part in a ministerial meeting in Paris to discuss the U.S. plan for Gaza and next steps toward a cease-fire, with the foreign ministers and representatives of Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Canada, as well as High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas.

 At the outset, participants welcomed the agreement reached by the parties on a cease-fire, the exchange of prisoners and the release of hostages, and the start of the first phase of the peace process. The meeting also reviewed the mediation efforts undertaken by Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye and ways to support implementation of the U.S. peace plan in line with the New York Declaration, in support of a political track leading to sustainable peace in Gaza and the region.
