SDAIA Showcases Smart Cities at Barcelona Conference
The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) concluded its participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress hosted by Barcelona, Spain, from November 5 to 7.
As a global partner, SDAIA highlighted its initiatives in leveraging data and AI to build smart cities, enhancing Saudi Arabia's leading role in data and AI and its rapid advancements in these advanced technology fields.
SDAIA's participation featured a keynote session by its National Information Center Director Dr. Esam Alwagait, who discussed the authority’s efforts in digital transformation. He noted that the Kingdom has moved beyond the concept of smart cities to the threshold of knowledge cities.
SDAIA also took part in panel sessions on topics like “Emerging Technologies for Inclusive Urban Life,” “Enhancing Urban Life with Digital Services,” and “Modern Technologies in Urban Design.”
SDAIA's exhibition at the conference has received large number of visitors who came to explore the authority’s initiatives and projects in smart-city building and digital transformation. The initiatives align with Saudi Vision 2030, which parallels the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The SDAIA exhibition showcased its efforts across platforms like Sawaher, Baseer, Unified National Access, the Tawakkalna app, and the national charity platform "Ehsan." SDAIA also shared its experience in building smart-city infrastructure through the National Data Bank, the "DEEM" platform, and the Government Integration Network.
The exhibit included national projects such as "EYENAI," the "SauTech" product, the "TALEEM" platform, as well as SDAIA's efforts to empower smart cities, accelerate smart-city projects, the Global Smart Cities Forum, and the Global AI Summit, both organized by SDAIA.
The Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona is one of the world's most prominent events in smart cities and urban innovation. The conference brought together 600 speakers, including leaders from governments, corporations, innovation organizations in smart-city development, executives, city representatives, and academics who shared insights from over 850 cities across 130 countries, with more than 25,000 attendees and over 1,100 exhibitors.
