The Saudi Red Sea Authority and the International Council of Marine Industry Associations sign an MoU

The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) at the Saudi Tourism Authority's pavilion on the sidelines of the Monaco Yacht Show, to advance the goals and requirements of the coastal tourism industry, forge partnerships with leading international organizations, and attract investors to the Red Sea region.

SRSA was represented at the signing of the MoU by CEO Mr. Mohammed Al Nasser, while the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) was represented by CEO Joe Lynch. The signing of the MoU stems from the SRSA's duties and responsibilities, the most prominent of which is to benefit from the best international practices in the field of coastal tourism, in a way that contributes to the development of maritime and marine tourism activities, through cooperation and exchange of experiences with prestigious regional and international bodies and organizations in this field. 

The MoU between the SRSA and the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) aims to discuss ways of cooperation in several areas, including the planning and implementation of existing and new initiatives to develop the coastal tourism sector in the Red Sea, in addition to continuous cooperation with international organizations, countries and other regulators and benefiting from their expertise. 

The MoU also provides for cooperation to attract investors to the Red Sea and help operators raise the level of safety, exchange knowledge to achieve best practices in the development of the maritime industry, in addition to exchanging insights on coastal tourism regulations, environmental standards, safety guidelines and sustainable practices. 

The MoU also aims to assess the economic impact, monitor key performance indicators of the coastal tourism sector, how to comply with new international standards and laws, and cooperate in conducting research and studies and implementing joint initiatives. 

Noting that the memorandum concluded by the Saudi Red Sea Authority comes within the framework of the authority's plans and endeavors to expand its strategic partnerships with international organizations and relevant authorities, exchanging experiences, and reviewing best practices to organize, advance and sustain navigational and marine tourism activities in the Red Sea, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
