Qassim Governor Receives Guinness World Records Certificate for World's Largest Date Carnival

Governor of the Qassim Region Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz today received the Guinness World Records certificate for the Buraidah Carnival, which has been recognized as the largest date carnival in the world, during a meeting at the governor's office with the General Supervisor of Buraidah Date Carnival Dr. Khaled Al-Nuqidan and the carnival's team.

 Prince Faisal congratulated all the officials, members of the high committee, farmers, investors, enthusiasts, and residents of the region on this occasion. He praised the efforts of the high committee, the organizing committee of the Buraidah Date Carnival, and all participating entities for achieving this accomplishment. The prince stressed that this achievement reflects the organizational capabilities and competencies of the Qassim Region, which contribute to enhancing the date economy and highlighting the region's identity at the global level.

 Prince Faisal pointed out that the Buraidah Date Carnival is one of the economic events contributing to the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 by marketing 400,000 tons of dates produced by more than 11 million palm trees, noting that the carnival is one of the most prestigious specialized global markets, with sales exceeding SAR3.2 billion annually. He added that the carnival produces 50 percent of Saudi Arabia's total date production, markets over 50 varieties of dates, and hosts more than 200 activities, culminating in its entry into the Guinness World Records.
