AMU Boys felicitated veteran journalist Khan in Patna
The Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association of Patna (Bihar) felicitated veteran Riyadh-based journalist Ghazanfar Ali Khan for his lifelong services in the field of journalism and especially for promoting and safeguarding the interests of Muslims and minorities. The felicitation ceremony was recently organized by the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOBA), Patna, in cooperation with the Grand Empire Hotel in Patna.
AMUOBA members and other top-notch individuals of the city attended the event. Khan was also the chief guest at a Gala Media Dinner hosted by Ziaullah Khan, owner of the Grand Empire Hotel to felicitate the local journalists living and working in Patna. About 100 journalists working for TV channels, digital media, and print media attended this event, the first of its kind organized in the state capital to honor local journalists.
To this end, it is important to mention that Khan has been working in mainstream Saudi media for the last 28 years with expertise in writing political stories, business reports, and consultancy. He has been working as a freelancer from Riyadh for a few major foreign media outlets, including Foreign Policy News (an American news portal), The Yomiuri Shimbun (a national newspaper of Japan), and Indianewsstream.com (a news portal of India). He is also associated with the Riyadh-based Big City Solutions Company for Business Services as their senior business consultant.
He worked for 25 years as Bureau Chief of Arab News, the largest English daily of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. He has written and published about 25,000 reports, news stories and features in different publications, including 'Arab News', ‘The Diplomat’ (A journal published by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs), ‘Ahlan Wasahlan’ (Inflight Magazine of Saudi Arabian Airlines), ‘The Hindustan Times’, a daily newspaper published from India; and ‘The Nation and the World’, an Indian magazine beside a few other media outlets.
During the felicitation ceremony, Nadim Seraj, AMUOBA president, welcomed the guests and spoke about Khan's illustrious career in the field of journalism. He described him as a person with exceptional qualities and achievements. Dr Mosheer Alam, AMUOBA general secretary, introduced the chief guest. The event witnessed a detailed presentation of an “India Vision Document” made by Mr Khan.
In his presentation, Khan said: “I am very happy to receive this honor. This is just an amazing moment and one of the most important scenes of my professional career. I am very thankful to AMUOBA for choosing me for this honor. I hope that I will continue to excel in my journalism journey in the future as well.” “I especially thank the Grand Empire Hotel and its management, led by Ziaullah Khan, for sponsoring the event with dinner,” he added.
Khan was also presented with an appreciation plaque on this occasion. Journalist Khan has reported widely on politics, development, security, entertainment, aviation, and humanitarian issues from Saudi Arabia, India, the UK, Italy, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, Nepal, Bahrain, Switzerland, Sweden, Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the UAE, China, Malaysia, Bahrain, and Germany. He was awarded “Saudi Arabia's Arab News Best Reporter Award” in 1995, and European Union Familiarization Certificate in 2009.
