The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Thursday distributed 1,247 double desks, 560 single desks, 56 wheelchairs, computers, and office supplies to support 35 centers for people with disabilities and 26 adult education schools across several Yemeni governorates.

This distribution is part of the second phase of the project responding to the needs of local capacity building for educating illiterate students and people with disabilities in Yemen.

Yemeni Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Saleh Mahmoud commended the support provided by KSrelief to the Yemeni people, confirming that the project addresses the needs of the most vulnerable groups and represents a positive step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for 2025.

The project aims to provide high-quality and sustainable educational opportunities for the targeted groups in the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Dhale, Lahij, Shabwa, and Al-Mahra, benefiting 9,747 individuals, including 6,527 people with disabilities, 2,389 illiterate students, and 831 educational staff in the targeted centers and schools.

The initiative is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing projects through KSrelief, aimed at addressing the fundamental challenges faced by Yemeni educational institutions in supporting children with disabilities and combating illiteracy.
