Sawaed Volunteers Offer Medical Services at Grand Mosque During Ramadan
The Makkah Health Affairs General Directorate has recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Endowment of Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Al-Saud to provide quality medical kits for the Sawaed volunteers, which contribute to implementing the Ministry of Health's Sawaed Volunteer Project, by offering first aid and other medical services to visitors and Umrah performers at the Grand Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.
These kits can be easily transported to different locations; 30 of them have been provided so far.
Makkah Health Affairs Director General Dr. Wael Mutair said that the agreement helps support the services provided by the Ministry of Health and serve worshippers at the Grand Mosque.
A Makkah Health Affairs representative said that the volunteers are stationed at key locations in the Grand Mosque, and that since the start of Ramadan, they have been dealing with 200 to 900 cases per day. Urgent cases are transferred to hospitals or health centers to receive the necessary treatment.
