Prophet's Mosque's Carpets Serviced for the Comfort of Worshippers

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques intensified its efforts to provide all services for the comfort of worshippers and visitors on Friday as part of an integrated system that includes the care of the carpets of the Prophet's Mosque.

The corridors, roof, and courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque witnessed the preparation of more than 23,000 high-quality carpets, which were cleaned, sterilized, and perfumed to ensure they were in their finest condition to receive worshippers and instill a sense of tranquility in the worship atmosphere.

The carpets of the Prophet's Mosque receive meticulous care, being swept three times daily, sterilized using more than 1,600 liters of disinfectant, and perfumed with over 200 liters of luxurious fragrances. Approximately 150 carpets are washed daily to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.

The carpets are characterized by their thickness, durability, dense weave, and colorfastness despite repeated washings, making them suitable for the large crowds that the Prophet's Mosque hosts.

Each carpet is equipped with an electronic chip that is read using RFID technology and linked to an electronic system, allowing for the identification of its data, location, manufacturing date, washing dates, and movement within the mosque and its courtyards. This contributes to enhancing the efficiency and quality of operational services management.
