KFSH and Getinge Sign Agreement to Launch Specialized Cardiopulmonary Support Training Program

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH) has signed an agreement with Getinge Regional Headquarter to launch a specialized training program in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a highly advanced life support technology. Delivered through the Heart Center of Excellence, the program will support applied medical education and prepare healthcare professionals to use advanced ECMO technologies in line with international clinical and technical best practices.

 The agreement was signed at KFSH in Riyadh in the presence of Group Chief Executive Officer of KFSH Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, Swedish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Petra Menander, and senior officials from both sides.

 Under the agreement, the program will offer four annual courses for participants from Saudi Arabia and abroad, alongside a dedicated demonstration facility showcasing the latest ECMO technologies and medical equipment. Successful participants will receive accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours.

 The collaboration combines KFSH’s clinical leadership with Getinge’s technical expertise to strengthen specialized training in cardiopulmonary support, promote knowledge exchange, and enhance participants’ competencies in advanced life-support technologies.
