
General Department of Traffic Announces Truck Restrictions for Ramadan
The General Department of Traffic (GDT) announced adjusted truck entry times in several cities and governorates during Ramadan to ensure road safety.
In Riyadh, truck restrictions will be in effect from Sunday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Service trucks face additional restrictions from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. All trucks are permitted between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. On weekends (Friday and Saturday), all trucks except service trucks are prohibited from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Service trucks have specific restrictions from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
In Jeddah, truck entry is restricted Sunday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., extending to 3 a.m on Thursdays. Weekend restrictions are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., except on Saturday when the ban ends at 1 a.m. Water tankers and sanitation vehicles are exempt.
In Dammam, Dhahran, and Al Khobar, restrictions will be in three daily periods: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
