ZATCA Foils Attempt to Smuggle over One Million Captagon Pills Hidden in Shipment of Melons at Duba Port

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Duba Port has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,001,131 Captagon pills, which were found hidden in a truck coming into the Kingdom through the port.

According to the authority, the pills were found hidden in a shipment of melons.

The authority coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) to arrest one suspect in the Kingdom.

ZATCA said it is committed to stiffening customs control of the Kingdom's imports and exports, stressing that it will stay vigilant to thwart smuggling attempts, in coordination and cooperation with its partners at GDNC, to ensure the security of the society.

The authority called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect the society and the national economy by calling the hotline: 1910, via email: 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or through the international number 00966114208417. The authority receives reports related to smuggling and customs violations in complete confidentiality, and grants a financial reward to those who provide correct information about smuggling attempts.
