Thai Embassy Joins NCVC Greening Initiative at Aba Samri National Park

The Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh joined greening efforts at Aba Samri National Park in the Murat Governorate of Riyadh Region through a volunteer initiative organized in collaboration with the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC).

The activity is part of the National Greening Season, which aims to expand greening efforts, enhance vegetation cover, and curb land degradation by planting native and adaptive species.

The Thai embassy’s participation supports ongoing greening efforts and responds to NCVC’s call for broader engagement from all sectors in vegetation restoration. Such efforts contribute to improving air quality, reducing dust and sandstorms, and restoring vital ecosystem functions, aligning with the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative.

The National Greening Season is a key part of the broader National Greening Program, which seeks to build partnerships across public, private, and non-profit sectors, promote volunteerism, and raise awareness about the importance of afforestation and combating desertification.

NCVC continues to lead efforts to protect, restore, and sustain vegetation sites across the Kingdom. The center plays a critical role in raising awareness about the importance of preserving vegetation cover and tackling major environmental challenges such as wildfires, illegal logging, and unregulated grazing that threaten the Kingdom’s natural ecosystems.
